Responsibilities: This opportunity will support multiple DIA initiatives, including the Machine-Assisted Rapid-Repository System (MARS), Object Management Services (OMS), and Object-Based Intelligence (OBI). • The Computer Scientist (OBI Analytic Efficiency Enablement), Employs mathematics, statics, information science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, network science, probability modeling, data mining, data engineering, data warehousing, data compression, data protection, and/or other scientific techniques to correlate complex, technical findings into graphical, written, visual and verbal narrative products on trends of existing intelligence data to leverage other IC data sources. • Develops and utilizes machine learning and data mining algorithms, including, but not limited to, Multiple Information Model Synthesis Architecture (MIMOSA) prediction algorithms based on open-source capabilities. Integrates or codes algorithms to support Government intelligence search and discovery missions. • Makes best practice recommendations on managing data within hardware, software, storage, and bandwidth constraints. • Employs data science techniques to support predictive analysis, social media and crowd-source data analytics, wargaming, and strategy development. • Employs exploratory analysis and rapid iteration techniques of large volumes of data to quickly derive intelligence. • Prepares products to describe and document findings and activities. • Review and evaluate OBI documentation submitted by data and AA owners to ensure compliance with tradecraft standards and adherence to best practices in system development and deployment. • Assess OBI documentation for completeness, accuracy, and thoroughness, and provide detailed feedback to data and AA owners and developers. • Assist in maintaining a repository of OBI documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices across the organization. • Collaborate with team members to identify and implement practices for responsible AI development, including but not limited to bias detection, hallucination recognition, prompt fairness testing, adherence to analytic tradecraft standards and security policies. • Provide consultation and guidance to NA owners, developers, and stakeholders on OBI governance and knowledge modeling, including best practices for system development, testing, and deployment. • Collaborate with team members to develop and refine semantic data retrieval and reasoning across knowledge graphs through development and optimization of data queries via multiple protocols (e.g. GraphQL, SPARQL, SHACL, SQL). • Collaborate with AA owners and developers to identify and address potential issues or gaps in OBI documentation. • Develop and deliver training materials and workshops to educate AA owners, developers, and stakeholders on the OBI process and its application in AI system development. • Assist analytic methodologists and AA owners in translating technical documentation into analytic tradecraft compliant language. • Collaborate with team members to develop and refine exploratory efforts leveraging novel technologies (e.g. large language models, natural language processing, machine learning) to support and automate entity recognition and extraction, summarization, in accordance with analytic tradecraft standards, to enhance advanced analytic integration for OBI efforts. • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, implement, and refine best practices for translating technical documentation into tradecraft compliant language. • Review and edit translated documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to tradecraft standards. • Collaborate with team members to develop and refine exploratory efforts leveraging novel technologies (e.g. large language models, natural language processing, machine learning) to automate ontologies and associated components to ensure semantic accuracy, relevance, and interoperability with existing knowledge modeling and knowledge graph capabilities. • Design and execute Testing, Evaluation, Verification, and Validation (TEVV) protocols to evaluate the performance, robustness, and fairness of AI systems in all source analysis contexts. • Collaborate with the Statistician/Mathematician to develop and apply statistical models and methods to analyze TEVV results and identify areas for improvement. • Develop and implement corrective actions to address TEVV findings and ensure AI system performance and robustness. • Develop and implement AI system maintenance schedules to ensure continued system performance and robustness. • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize AI system improvements and updates. • Develop and implement system updates and improvements to ensure compliance with tradecraft standards and best practices. • Conduct technical assessments to ensure compliant use of AI systems for approved use cases in all source analysis. • Evaluate AI system performance and adherence to tradecraft standards and identify areas for improvement. • Develop and maintain a repository of audit findings and recommendations to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices across the organization. • Possesses in-depth knowledge employing data mining, data engineering, data warehousing, data compression, data protection, and/or other scientific techniques to design and develop automated or computer-assisted prototypes or software to derive insight. • Serves as the primary POG for development expertise, working to streamline repetitive processes, access and integrate disparate data sets, and maintain internal tools for analytic production. • Collaborate with team members to develop and refine exploratory efforts leveraging novel technologies (e.g. large language models, natural language processing, machine learning) to support and automate entity recognition and extraction, summarization, in accordance with analytic tradecraft standards, to enhance advanced analytic integration for OBI efforts. • Provides advice on opportunities to advance DIA's analytic edge by creating minimum viable products (MVPs) that standardize and export DIA tradecraft. • Creates documentation capturing the function and purpose of MVPs and support transition to internal or external teams that will scale the capability to enterprise applications. • Possesses experience working with increasingly large and complex data, working and standing up distributed cluster for advanced analytics, and creating algorithms to clean, process, analyze, and visualize data. • Possesses experience with Python, HTML, SQL, JavaScript, and maintaining source code using Git. • Makes recommendations to develop MVPs based on capabilities demonstrated in Tasks 2 through 4 and mission requirements. Requires TPOC and COR approval. • Supports capability development by contributing, editing, and storing code in Government owned/controlled source version control repositories. • Creates, edits, and disseminates, in partnership with other vendors or software developers, capability update briefs capturing outstanding requirements, requested features, bugs, planned development efforts, and priorities for prototypes or MVPs. • Researches and designs data, software, and other technical approaches to support all source intelligence analysis and data exploitation. • Designs and implements technical solutions that deliver automation, machine augmentation, and tradecraft compliant capabilities. Delivers technical capabilities that enhance the ability for all source analysts to interrogate increasingly large and complex data sets. Required qualifications/skills: • Minimum 3 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years with a bachelor's degree. -OR- • A minimum of 7 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
