ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a high-impact engineering team within a large-scale airline environment as a Junior Java Developer (Full-Stack, Backend-Focused). In this contract-to-hire position, you will play a key role in modernizing legacy operational systems and migrating critical applications to the Azure cloud. This is an opportunity to work on complex, real-world systems that directly support airline operations and decision-making. You will collaborate within a learning-focused, Agile team, gain hands-on experience with both backend and frontend technologies, and contribute to the ongoing transformation of essential airline platforms. The position is based in Dallas, TX, with a hybrid work schedule (onsite Tuesday through Thursday), and offers opportunities for professional growth, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive, collaborative culture.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Contribute to the migration of legacy on-premises applications to Azure cloud
  • Support development and maintenance of operational management systems, air traffic coordination platforms, and cloud-based services
  • Assist with backend development using Java and Spring Boot, and perform frontend updates using Angular
  • Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and enhancing existing systems
  • Work with team members to implement business logic and application features
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps initiatives as needed
  • Collaborate within an Agile team environment across multiple squads
  • Engage in ongoing learning to gain familiarity with system architecture and business workflows
  • Support and accelerate modernization and cloud migration initiatives

WHAT YOU BRING
  • 0-2 years of experience in software development
  • Strong foundation in Java and object-oriented programming
  • Experience or familiarity with Spring Boot (or similar frameworks)
  • Experience or familiarity with frontend frameworks (Angular preferred)
  • Experience or familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
