Salesforce Platform Administrator

Location: Remote (Candidates must be local to Harrisburg, PA)
Duration: 5-Month Contract
Schedule: 37.5 Hours per Week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Platform Administrator to serve as the senior administrator and subject matter expert for a large enterprise Salesforce environment. This role will be responsible for the administration, configuration, support, governance, and continuous improvement of the Salesforce platform while acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on Salesforce administration experience, strong business analysis skills, and a proven ability to deliver scalable Salesforce solutions using declarative platform capabilities and industry best practices. This position plays a critical role in reducing reliance on external vendors by building internal platform expertise and ensuring the Salesforce environment remains secure, compliant, maintainable, and aligned with organizational objectives.

Key ResponsibilitiesSalesforce Administration & Configuration
  • Administer and maintain Salesforce environments, including user accounts, profiles, permission sets, role hierarchies, sharing rules, and security controls.
  • Design, configure, and support Salesforce solutions using declarative tools such as:
    • Flows
    • Validation Rules
    • Approval Processes
    • Record Types
    • Page Layouts
    • Custom Objects
  • Configure and maintain business processes while ensuring platform scalability and maintainability.
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into effective Salesforce solutions.
  • Conduct discovery sessions, workshops, and requirements-gathering meetings.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by identifying opportunities to improve business processes and increase platform adoption.
Reporting & Analytics
  • Develop and maintain Salesforce reports, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Provide operational and executive-level reporting solutions.
  • Support data-driven decision-making through actionable insights.
Data Management & Quality
  • Lead data quality initiatives, including:
    • Data imports and exports
    • Data cleansing
    • Deduplication efforts
    • Data migration projects
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational standards.
Release Management & Support
  • Coordinate Salesforce releases across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Support testing, deployment, and post-release validation activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex platform, security, configuration, and integration issues.
  • Coordinate issue resolution with technical teams and vendors as necessary.
Integration & Platform Support
  • Support integrations between Salesforce and internal/external systems.
  • Work with APIs and approved integration tools to ensure seamless data exchange.
  • Assist with platform modernization and enhancement initiatives.
Training & Documentation
  • Create and maintain:
    • System documentation
    • Configuration standards
    • Operating procedures

  • Deliver end-user training and ongoing platform support.
  • Mentor junior administrators and internal staff to strengthen Salesforce capabilities.

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience administering, configuring, supporting, or developing enterprise applications.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Salesforce Administration experience in a complex enterprise environment.
