As a Junior / Intermediate Pavement Technician, you will support pavement investigations, borehole drilling, asphalt coring and condition assessments that directly influence how transportation infrastructure is designed, maintained, and rehabilitated across Ontario. Based out of our Whitby, Ontario office, this role offers a strong balance of field and office work, handson learning, and mentorship within a collaborative team.


Your Impact
  • Conduct pavement condition surveys, field inspections, and sampling for municipal and provincial transportation projects
  • Support pavement investigations and rehabilitation studies through data collection and documentation
  • Compile inspection data, photographs, and test results into technical notes and reports
  • Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to develop practical pavement solutions
  • Adhere to WSP's health, safety, and quality standards while working in active field environments

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 2-3 years of experience in pavement engineering, materials testing, or transportation infrastructure
  • Experience with pavement condition surveys, borehole drilling, asphalt coring, or field investigations
  • Familiarity with Ontario standards and specifications (e.g., MTO, OPSS)
  • Ability to work in outdoor field environments and varying weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail with clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites

Compensation

Compensation:
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $57,500 - $76,200
MB & ON: $52,500 - $72,300
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $52,000 - $69,000
