What is a full stack iOS developer?

A Full Stack iOS Developer is a software engineer who specializes in building both the front-end (user interface) and back-end (server-side) components of applications for Apple's iOS platform. They are proficient in programming languages like Swift or Objective-C for developing the app interface, as well as server-side technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Ruby for APIs and databases. This role requires a deep understanding of mobile design principles, cloud services, and integration of various services to create fully functional and scalable iOS apps. Full Stack iOS Developers often handle the entire development process, from concept to deployment and maintenance.

What are the typical collaboration dynamics between full stack iOS developers and other teams during app development?

Full Stack iOS Developers frequently collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend engineers, QA testers, and product managers throughout the app development lifecycle. They work closely with designers to implement intuitive interfaces, coordinate with backend teams to ensure seamless integration of APIs, and partner with QA to resolve bugs and optimize performance. Regular stand-up meetings and code reviews are common, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full stack iOS developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Stack iOS Developer, you need proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, RESTful APIs, front-end frameworks, and a solid understanding of mobile app architecture, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with Xcode, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms like AWS or Firebase is typically required, along with relevant certifications or portfolio projects. Strong problem-solving abilities, collaboration, and effective communication help developers excel in cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving project requirements. These skills ensure robust, user-friendly app development and seamless integration of front-end and back-end components for successful project delivery.

Full-time

Job description

ROLE OVERVIEW

We're looking for full stack engineers who are not just strong technically, but are actively exploring how AI is changing the way software is built.

This is a role for builders - people who experiment, ship side projects, and are curious about what's possible with AI and agentic systems.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Build and ship full-stack applications across web and mobile
  • Work across technologies including:
    • React / JavaScript / TypeScript
    • Backend APIs and services
    • Mobile (iOS, Android, React Native)
  • Design and implement AI-powered features, including:
    • LLM integrations
    • Intelligent workflows
    • AI-assisted user experiences
  • Build and experiment with agentic systems, where AI:
    • Executes multi-step workflows
    • Interacts with tools and APIs
    • Supports both product features and internal development workflows
  • Use AI tools (Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) as part of your daily development workflow
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver real client products

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORCore Technical Skills
  • Experience with at least 2 of the following:
    • React
    • JavaScript / TypeScript
    • iOS
    • Android
    • React Native
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Full-stack application development
    • APIs and system design
    • Modern development workflows

AI + Builder Mindset (Important)

We're specifically looking for engineers who:

  • Have hands-on experience with AI tools or LLMs
  • Have built or experimented with:
    • AI-powered features
    • Side projects using ChatGPT, Claude, or similar
    • Automation workflows or agent-like systems
  • Are curious about:
    • Prompt engineering
    • AI-assisted development
    • The future of agentic systems

What Stands Out
  • Side projects, hackathons, or independent builds
  • Experience experimenting with AI beyond basic usage
  • Comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK HERE
  • You'll work on real client products, not internal-only systems
  • You'll be part of a high-performance, collaborative team
  • You'll operate in an environment where:
    • AI is expected to be part of how you work
    • Ownership is valued
    • Strong performers grow quickly
  • You'll have access to tools like:
    • Cursor
    • Claude
    • ChatGPT
  • You'll participate in:
    • Demos
    • Knowledge sharing
    • Continuous learning and experimentation

WHY THIS ROLE

This is not a traditional engineering role.

You'll be working at the intersection of:

  • Product engineering
  • AI systems
  • Agentic workflows

If you're excited about how AI is changing software development - and want to be part of that shift - this is the kind of environment where you'll grow quickly.
