Description

TEKsystems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to support one of our partner companies in the finance industry. This role will work closely with Network Architects, Engineering teams, Information Security, and project stakeholders to assess, design, implement, and support network integration activities.

The ideal candidate will provide hands-on engineering expertise for network migration, connectivity, security, and infrastructure consolidation initiatives while helping ensure business continuity, operational stability, and compliance with financial security standards.

Network Integration Support

  • Support the planning and execution of network migration, consolidation, and connectivity initiatives.
  • Participate in infrastructure discovery, network assessments, and gap analyses.
  • Assist with implementing network changes, cutovers, and migration activities while minimizing operational impact.
  • Document existing and future-state network architectures, configurations, and integration activities.
  • Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting efforts throughout the integration process.

Network Engineering

  • Design, configure, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and data center network environments.
  • Deploy and support routing, switching, segmentation, and high-availability solutions.
  • Assist with network modernization and optimization efforts.
  • Maintain network performance, reliability, and scalability across the enterprise environment.
  • Support connectivity between on-premises infrastructure, branch locations, and cloud services.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement network solutions that align with Information Security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support firewall, VPN, network segmentation, and secure connectivity initiatives.
  • Assist in vulnerability remediation and network hardening activities.
  • Ensure network configurations comply with applicable banking and regulatory standards.

Operational Support

  • Serve as a Tier III escalation resource for complex network issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents, outages, and performance concerns.
  • Participate in maintenance windows, after-hours upgrades, and migration activities as required.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve network stability.
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, operational procedures, and technical documentation.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Network Architects, Security Engineers, Systems Engineers, vendors, and project teams.
  • Provide technical recommendations related to network integration and optimization efforts.
  • Support project managers by providing technical status updates and implementation input.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge with team members.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience

  • 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting large-scale network migration, infrastructure integration, or technology transformation projects.
  • Experience working within highly regulated environments such as banking, financial services, healthcare, or government preferred.
  • Hands-on experience implementing network infrastructure changes in production environments.

Technical Skills

Strong experience with:

  • Cisco routing and switching platforms
  • BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
  • SD-WAN technologies
  • Enterprise wireless solutions
  • DNS, DHCP, and IP address management
  • VPN technologies
  • Data center networking
  • Network monitoring and management platforms
  • Azure and/or AWS networking concepts

Experience with:

  • Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, or similar firewall platforms
  • Network automation and scripting tools (Python, Ansible preferred)

  • CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, or equivalent certification.

  • Knowledge of FFIEC, PCI-DSS, and other financial industry security requirements.
  • Experience with cloud connectivity and hybrid network architectures.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
