Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation: Starting pay rate of $17.50- 18.38, adjusted based on experience.
  • Benefits: Seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e., food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.

Job Summary:

Our Junior Instructors are the future of our Mountain Sports team. If you're passionate about skiing or snowboarding and want to develop your instructor skills, this is the place to start. No prior teaching experience is required-just a willingness to learn, help, and share your love of mountain sports. As a Junior Instructor, you'll play a vital supporting role in introducing the next generation to skiing and snowboarding through our children's programs.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist Mountain Sports School supervisors, team leads, and instructors-Junior Instructors do not independently teach classes
  • Support all aspects of children's programs across Killington and Pico, focusing on the care and safety of children both on and off the snow
  • Set up and take down teaching area features; assist with fencing and signage for meeting areas
  • Assist children in the Ministars programs with putting on and taking off snow pants, coats, and other winter gear, as well as ski/snowboard equipment
  • Assist with lunchtime and snack procedures
  • Act as a positive role model, ensuring a welcoming and encouraging environment for young participants
  • Provide general support wherever needed to help the team and enhance the guest experience
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be 14 or 15 years of age
  • Currently pursuing a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at a beginner level or above
  • Capable of standing, skiing/snowboarding, bending, and lifting small children for extended periods

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Enthusiastic about working with children ages 4 and up
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work in all weather conditions
