The position is hybrid. Koniag Data Solutions is seeking a motivated Full Stack Software Developer to support KDS and our government customer in enhancing and modernizing enterprise web applications supporting mission-critical operations. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of cloud-based applications while working collaboratively with senior engineers, architects, and government stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern web technologies, cloud-native services, and emerging AI capabilities in a secure Department of Defense environment. Essential Functions & Responsibilities * Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies * Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS * Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Python * Design, develop, and optimize relational database solutions using PostgreSQL or similar database platforms * Deploy and support applications within AWS cloud environments utilizing services such as EC2, S3, and Lambda * Collaborate with architects, developers, and system administrators to implement scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions * Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization efforts * Support application deployments and software releases through established CI/CD and DevSecOps processes * Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support as needed * Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and operational procedures * Ensure applications comply with government security requirements and organizational coding standards Required Qualifications: Clearance Requirement: * Active Secret Security Clearance Software Development: * Two (2) to four (4) years of professional software development or software engineering experience * Strong proficiency in React for developing modern web applications * Strong programming skills in TypeScript and JavaScript * Experience developing backend services using Python * Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs * Familiarity with modern software development practices, including version control (Git), code reviews, and Agile development methodologies Database & Cloud Technologies: * Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational database management systems * Working knowledge of AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, or similar services * Understanding of cloud application deployment and basic cloud architecture principles Soft Skills: * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative Agile team * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced government environment Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform * Experience developing applications using Next.js * Experience deploying applications into IL6 (Impact Level 6) cloud environments * Familiarity with semantic search, semantic enrichment, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions * Exposure to AI-assisted application development or Generative AI technologies * Experience supporting Department of Defense or other Federal Government customers * Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipeline implementation * Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a secret clearance Education: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field. * Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
