Job description

About the Company

Galloway & Company, Inc. is a people-first company where collaboration, innovation, and career growth are at the heart of everything we do. You will grow personally and professionally with a supportive culture, flexible work environment, and strong focus on leadership development. You'll also work on diverse, impactful projects alongside multidisciplinary professionals who are passionate about making a difference. At Galloway, you're not just building communities — you're building a fulfilling career.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Project Manager II at Galloway, you'll take true ownership of your projects from concept through completion — leading mechanical design efforts in Revit, navigating code and zoning requirements, and keeping schedules, budgets, and client relationships on track every step of the way. This is a hands-on, in-the-weeds role for an experienced mechanical engineer who wants to be the driving force behind multiple projects at once, working directly with clients, officials, and outside agencies to solve real problems as they come up. If you're an experienced, licensed engineer, and want a role where your technical expertise and project leadership directly shape outcomes, this is the opportunity to dig in and make your mark.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Autodesk programs and Revit to lead mechanical design efforts, incorporating LEED standards and energy-efficient design principles into project work.
  • Research and apply building codes, zoning regulations, and approval processes specific to each project site, ensuring designs meet all applicable requirements.
  • Review, analyze, and resolve mechanical and construction field issues as they arise throughout a project's lifecycle.
  • Prepare and review project proposals, qualification statements, promotional materials, and professional services agreements — managing the full process from preparation through internal/external approvals, final execution, and any subsequent amendments.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple mechanical projects simultaneously across multiple clients, serving as the primary point of accountability for each project's success.
  • Perform mechanical and plumbing engineering for assigned systems, including HVAC, plumbing design, and kitchen exhaust systems.
  • Manage project schedules and budgets, communicate budget allocations to project staff, and coordinate mechanical engineering work across the team.
  • Manage project billings, collections and assist in resource management across the team.
  • Oversee project design and progress, coordinating directly with city, state, and county officials and other outside agencies as needed.
  • Resolve conflicting design requirements, address unsuitability of conventional materials, and manage difficult coordination challenges as they arise.
  • Direct the day-to-day project work of junior staff assigned to your projects, reviewing their design work and calculations to ensure technical accuracy and quality prior to client or internal submission.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through a client-focused approach and effective interpersonal communication.
  • Support business development efforts and strengthen relationships with existing clients, including participation in networking events and meetings.

You will love our unique Full Spectrum Approach™ that holistically champions the needs of our people, clients, and company to create a better experience for all. As a multidisciplinary company, with 11 in-house disciplines, this approach helps facilitate a deeper understanding of the design process, further enriching your professional growth and development.
