Job description:
The Trade Finance Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting and enhancing Trade Finance Operations processes, with a focus on Letters of Credit and Documentary Collections. The role involves analyzing operational workflows, identifying efficiencies, ensuring accurate processing, and supporting system and process improvements to maintain compliance and operational excellence.
Analyze end-to-end Trade Finance operational processes, including Import and Export Letters of Credit and Documentary Collections, to identify gaps and efficiency opportunities.
Support the processing of Import and Export Letters of Credit, including issuance, advising, confirmations, settlements, and financing activities.
Review and improve operational workflows to enhance accuracy, turnaround time, and risk controls. Collaborate with technology, product, and operations teams to support system enhancements and process automation initiatives.
Participate in system testing (QA) and (UAT), including preparation of test cases, execution, and issue resolution for trade finance platforms.
Ensure all operational activities comply with ICC rules (e.g., UCP, URC, ISBP), internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain and update process documentation, standard operating procedures, and user guides.
Support invoicing, commission processing (advance and arrears), and daily accrual activities. Assist in managing syndicated Letter of Credit transactions and complex trade structures from an operational standpoint.
Provide data analysis, reporting, and insights to support operational performance and decision-making. Support change management, including communication and training for new processes and system updates.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Proven experience in Trade Finance Operations, with strong knowledge of Letters of Credit and Documentary Collections.
Strong understanding of ICC rules (UCP, URC, ISBP) and trade finance regulatory requirements.
Experience in process improvement, operations analysis, or workflow optimization.
Strong attention to detail, risk awareness, and ability to operate in a high-volume, control-focused environment.
Familiarity with trade finance systems and operational workflows.
Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) is an advantage.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
