AI/ML Engineer, Junior
The Opportunity:
As a data technician, you know that high-quality labeled data is essential for training artificial intelligence systems. Your ability to recognize patterns, follow detailed instructions, and maintain consistency across large volumes of information makes you an important part of building reliable AI-enabled solutions. We need your attention to detail and willingness to learn to support mission-focused data preparation work.
As part of our team, you'll help prepare datasets by labeling images, tagging objects, and applying metadata that supports AI model development. You'll grow your technical skill set as you learn how AI systems use labeled data and collaborate with engineers and analysts to ensure datasets are accurate, complete, and ready for future model training.

You Have:
  • Experience labeling or annotating data, including images or objects, to support data preparation workflows
  • Experience performing basic quality checks to ensure consistency and accuracy in labeled datasets
  • Knowledge of basic digital tools used for reviewing and labeling content
  • Knowledge of data organization practices, including categorizing and structuring information
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain high accuracy across repetitive tasks
  • Ability to identify and report data inconsistencies or unclear cases
  • Ability to learn new technical processes and tools over time
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience working with basic scripting or software tools
  • Experience supporting teams in digital, analytical, or data-driven environments
  • Knowledge of AI concepts or how training data supports model development
  • Knowledge of metadata tagging, object identification, or digital imaging

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
