Embedded Software Engineer
Description -
The Embedded Software Development Engineer will be key in shaping and building disruptive products on HP's embedded platforms. This is no cookie cutter development, this is a creative space that will make you think and challenge you at every turn.
Responsibilities:
  • Create innovative new collaboration features for HP's video endpoints.
    - Design & develop audio and video services on embedded platforms.
    - Work in very collaborative agile team to come up with innovative solutions.
    - Create high quality production ready software.
    - Build automation to ensure issues are caught early through our automated test pipeline.
    - Have a strong focus on continuous learning and growth for yourself and your team.
  • Leverage your programming skills to build rich user experiences, solve complex problems with content collaboration, audio and video processing. The solutions you build will run on a wide variety of hardware platforms around the world and be used every day.
  • Turn software requirements into clean working software.
  • Use the latest technologies to build services, applications and API's.
  • Balance performance with the constraints of embedded platforms.

Education and Experience:
  • Master's or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent education & experience.-
  • Must have strong C/C++ embedded programming and debugging skills.
  • 2+ years of embedded platform development experience, or a master's degree.
  • Experience developing & debugging multi-threaded applications.
  • Experience developing in resource constrained Linux or Android embedded environments.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proven effectiveness working with Agile software development and applying best practices.
  • Experience with GitHub.
  • Strong critical thinking & problem-solving skills.
  • Strong passion for learning new things.
  • Experience with USB, networking, security, video, audio, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi is a plus.

The pay range for this role is $83,000 to $127,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
