Electrical Design Engineer 

As a member of the engineering staff, the Electrical Design Engineer must be accomplished, self-motivated, with the ability to design, maintain and support our industry-leading products and systems. The Electrical Design Engineer will work across a variety of functional groups that are directly involved in engineering, product development, and some R&D. The Electrical Design Engineer will also act as the resident subject matter expert in making critical design decisions, ongoing standards, and improvements over time.

Essential Functions

·        Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by researching specifications and designing complete systems; applying knowledge of electricity and materials.

·        Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.

·        Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components; soliciting observations from operators.

·        Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

·        Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.

·        Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.

·        Develops and maintains electrical design standards and a product database using relevant and effective computer programs for the purpose; entering data.

·        Guides electrical designers in critical design decisions and standards.

·        Performs various R&D when determining the viability of new electrical design solutions as needed.

·        Coordinates with mechanical designers as needed to ensure integrated designs.

·        Acts independently to make design decisions within given parameters and requirements.

·        Participates in relationships with partner vendors to coordinate future design directions.

·        Completes projects by training and guiding technicians on critical electrical design elements.

·        Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.

·        Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

·        Familiar with PLC Programming is a plus, but not necessary.

·        Travel may be required.

·        Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

·        Proven track record of developing solutions that accomplish all machine requirements, customer requirements, and regulation requirements.
