Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engineer- IAS (Infrastructure Application Services) is a technical role responsible for the design, implementation, support, and optimization of enterprise server and application infrastructure. This position ensures stability, scalability, and performance of application platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. The role serves as a technical engineer within the IAS team, driving best practices, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating across IT and business units.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Infrastructure & Application Engineering
  • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure supporting enterprise applications, including middleware, application servers, and integration platforms.
  • Lead complex system deployments, upgrades, and migrations (on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments)
  • Ensure high availability, resiliency, and performance of critical application environments.
  • Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and system optimization initiatives.

Operational Support & Reliability
  • Provide Tier 3 escalation support for production issues and outages.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical systems support.

Security & Compliance
  • Ensure infrastructure adheres to enterprise security standards and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in vulnerability remediation, patching, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement secure architecture designs.

Collaboration & Leadership
  • Serve as a technical advisor to application teams, architects, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Systems Engineers I and II or Associate
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (network, storage, cloud, database, development)
  • Document architecture, processes, and operational procedures.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure, or application platform support
  • Strong experience with enterprise application platforms (M365, SCCM, Azure)
  • Experience with Windows Server
  • Proficiency in virtualization and cloud platforms
  • Experience with scripting/automation tools (PowerShell, etc)
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, AD, etc)
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, highly available systems.
