Only candidates who are permanent in the Civil Engineering Intern title, or those who filed for the open-competitive exam #6116 may apply. Please include a copy of your Notice of Results or indicate if you are currently permanent in the title. If you do not meet the previously mentioned civil service criteria, you will not be considered for an interview.
The Department of Design & Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is currently seeking a Junior Engineer to join our Construction Management 2 - South Queens - Section 2 team.
The successful candidate will be provided with hands-on training and will contribute to a range of engineering tasks, from moderate to complex. Responsibilities include construction inspection, construction management, engineering investigations, and assessments related to various engineering functions.
Additionally, the candidate will carry out civil engineering tasks of moderate complexity under the supervision of an Engineer-In-Charge and/or Resident Engineer. The scope of work and training encompasses one or more of the following specialized areas: construction management, engineering investigations, cost estimation, specification interpretation, engineering calculations, conducting field inspections, and participating in contract negotiations and dispute resolutions.
Applicants must be ACI Concrete Field -Testing and OSHA 10-hour Certified or take the first available DDC-offered training session.
Please note: All candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.). In compliance with Public Law 99-603, candidates are required to present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S. DDC is unable to support or sponsor any visa application or visa extension, including but not limited to OPT/STEM visas, H-1B visas, F-1 practical training, permanent residence sponsorship, or any proposed change of visa type.
