Job description

Senior Mechanical Designer

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join its team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled SolidWorks professional with extensive sheet metal design experience who can work independently while serving as a mentor and technical resource to junior designers.


Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Design sheet metal components and assemblies for manufacturing applications.
  • Develop and maintain accurate drawings, bills of materials, and related documentation.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
  • Manage design projects independently with minimal oversight.
  • Review drawings and designs for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior designers.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting, design standards, and documentation practices.


Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks.
  • Extensive experience designing sheet metal components and assemblies.
  • Deep understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, tolerances, and manufacturing methods.
  • Ability to create complete drawing packages and manufacturing documentation.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
