A Senior Software Engineer provides advanced technical expertise in the design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of software solutions supporting a complex systems and mission-focused program. This position is responsible for developing high-quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable software applications and services in accordance with program requirements, architectural standards, and lifecycle objectives. The Senior Software Engineer works closely with system architects, program managers, developers, testers, cybersecurity personnel, and customer stakeholders to deliver software capabilities that meet technical, operational, and mission needs. The role requires strong experience in software engineering principles, modern development practices, and full lifecycle support within a complex technical environment. THIS HYBRID POSITION REQUIRES 3 DAYS OF WORK IN THE OFFICE AND 2 DAYS REMOTE PER WEEK Responsibilities * Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain software applications, services, and system components for complex technical programs. * Translate functional, technical, and operational requirements into software designs and implementation approaches. * Lead or support software architecture, component design, interface development, and data flow implementation. * Develop clean, efficient, secure, and maintainable code in accordance with coding standards and best practices. * Support software integration across distributed systems, platforms, environments, and external interfaces. * Participate in agile, iterative, or traditional software development lifecycle activities, as applicable. * Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, defect resolution, and performance tuning. * Review software designs, source code, and technical approaches to ensure quality, scalability, and alignment with requirements. * Support DevSecOps, configuration management, build, release, and deployment processes. * Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and test teams to ensure software meets security, performance, and operational requirements. * Document software designs, interfaces, configurations, and implementation details. * Support troubleshooting and resolution of software issues identified in development, test, production, or operational environments. * Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices. * Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and other program technical forums. * Support modernization, enhancement, migration, and sustainment efforts for existing software systems THIS HYBRID POSITION REQUIRES 3 DAYS OF WORK IN THE OFFICE AND 2 DAYS REMOTE PER WEEK Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field an d 8+ years of related work experience
