Job Description Junior I&C Engineer (EIT) - Water/Wastewater Projects Location: Tempe, AZ (Onsite, Full-Time) An EPC firm in the Tempe area is looking to add a Junior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support a growing portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This is an in-office role designed for someone early in their career who wants hands-on project experience and mentorship from experienced engineers. Position Summary The Junior I&C Engineer will assist with the development of control system designs for municipal and industrial water-related facilities.

Working closely under the direction of senior staff, this role will help produce engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation while collaborating with multiple disciplines throughout the project lifecycle. Candidates should either hold their EIT certification or be actively working toward it. Key Responsibilities Support the design of instrumentation and control systems for water and wastewater treatment processes.

Assist in preparing P&IDs, control system architectures, wiring details, and installation drawings. Contribute to writing technical specifications and assembling cost estimates for project scopes. Review contractor submittals and documentation, providing comments under the guidance of senior engineers.

Use AutoCAD or AutoCAD Plant 3D to generate design documents (willingness to learn is acceptable). Coordinate with electrical, civil, mechanical, and process engineering teams to ensure aligned project deliverables. Gain exposure to HMI/PLC configuration and programming tasks as skills develop.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or active pursuit of EIT. Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design tools.

General understanding of codes such as NEC, NFPA, and related life safety standards (or willingness to learn). Strong communication skills for working within multidisciplinary teams and interacting with clients or contractors. Exposure to electrical systems or control system programming is beneficial.
