Are you a college student seeking a summer internship in the construction industry?  Are you looking for an internship opportunity that provides you with hands-on, real-life experience?  At DCS, many of our employees started their careers with us as an intern and you could be next!  

DCS Contracting is a leading, privately owned heavy civil general contractor that has been in the Phoenix valley since 1994.  We specialize in highway, roadway, and underground utility construction that positively enhances our local communities, and we are proud of the work we perform.  We offer a friendly, supportive work environment and a healthy work-life balance.  We are strong believers in setting our employees up for success during their day to ensure time is spent with their loved ones at night.

Our ideal Project Engineer Intern is someone who eager to jumpstart their career in the construction industry and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and work hard!  

As a DCS Intern, you can expect to gain heavy civil construction experience by working closely with project management team members on a variety of key tasks, such as:   

  • Assist the project management team and provide technical support
  • Responsible for reviewing timesheets, cost reporting, and submittals
  • Gain knowledge on the company's self-performing trades; concrete, wet utilities, and grading
  • Assist project team in material and equipment procurement, planning and scheduling of activities
  • Attend and participate in job coordination meetings
  • Attend and participate in owner project meetings
  • Develop firm understanding of project scope of work and contract document
  • Develop your understanding of construction safety

Our Interns split their time between jobsites and the main office.  Our jobsites are located in the Phoenix valley area.

Internship Qualifications:

  • Supportive, team player with the mentality to do what is best for the success of the company and team members
  • Ability to work 40 hours Monday - Friday during the summer internship session
