Job description

) Position Title: Junior BI Developer
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Junior BI Developer will serve as the primary developer of new Power BI report pages, visualizations, and dashboards across the organization. Working closely with the Director of Data Management and Senior BI Developer, this individual will translate business requirements into clear, accurate, and actionable data products. Over time, this role will expand to include semantic model development and more complex data tasks.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop new Power BI report based on business requirements gathered from clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders
• Maintain and enhance existing Power BI reports, including new pages, features, and visual updates
• Write and optimize DAX measures to support reporting logic and KPI definitions
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver iterative improvements
• Document report logic, data definitions, field mappings, and development decisions
• Support semantic model testing and quality assurance
Required Qualifications
• 1-3 years of experience developing reports in Power BI
• Working knowledge of DAX and Power Query (M)
• Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL preferred)
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective data visualizations
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Collaborative mindset with clear written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Background or coursework in UX design, data visualization best practices, or human-centered design; candidates who can balance technical accuracy with intuitive, user-friendly report design are strongly preferred
• Experience in healthcare data (LTC, SNF, or similar setting strongly preferred)
• Familiarity with semantic model concepts in Power BI or Analysis Services
