About the job you're considering
Capgemini is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and deliver enterprise scale backend API and event driven solutions using modern cloud and distributed system technologies.
Your role
Serve as a senior hands on contributor within backend API and event driven development teams.
Design, develop, deploy, and support backend services built using TypeScript and Node.js.
Build and design REST APIs and event driven systems aligned to enterprise standards.
Work closely with DevOps engineers to build and deploy cloud infrastructure using AWS managed services.
Implement and manage integrations using Kafka (Amazon MSK) and DynamoDB.
Apply software security principles and patterns across backend services.
Collaborate with cross functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Deliver on multiple competing priorities with limited supervision.
Contribute to and promote a culture of engineering excellence, quality, and collaboration.
Your skills and experience
15+ years of overall experience in software engineering and backend development.
Strong experience with TypeScript Backend and Node.js.
Strong experience designing and building TypeScript Backend APIs (primary skill).
Strong understanding of DynamoDB or other key value and NoSQL databases (primary skill).
Experience using AWS managed services.
Experience with caching architectures, particularly Redis.
Experience with messaging systems, especially Kafka / Amazon MSK (primary skill).
Strong experience with containerization and container orchestration, including:
Experience with monitoring technologies such as Splunk, Instana, Datadog, and Prometheus.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $73,150 to $174,000
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.
