Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented (PLM) Engineer to support the configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of product data systems within a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for managing engineering data, product structures, CAD integrations, and PLM workflows to ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting injection molded products, and possess strong technical knowledge of PLM systems, CAD data management, and engineering change processes.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage product data, engineering documentation, and bill of materials (BOM) structures within the PLM system.
  • Support configuration, administration, and continuous improvement of PLM platforms and associated workflows.
  • Coordinate engineering change requests (ECRs), engineering change orders (ECOs), and document control activities.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance across engineering databases and product records.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, IT, and Program Management teams to support product launches and ongoing production requirements.
  • Manage CAD file structures, revisions, and data releases within the PLM environment.
  • Assist with system enhancements, process improvements, user training, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Support customer, regulatory, and quality management system requirements related to product documentation and traceability.
  • Generate reports and metrics related to engineering data, product releases, and change management activities.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve product lifecycle processes and operational efficiency.


Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in product data management, engineering data management, PLM administration, or related technical support roles.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments, including injection molding, automotive, medical device, electronics, consumer products, or similar industries.
  • Experience with PLM system configuration, administration, or support is strongly preferred.


Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Proficiency with at least one CAD system for engineering data manipulation and file management.
  • Experience with one or more Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platforms, including:
    • Teamcenter
    • Windchill
    • Fusion Manage
    • Arena PLM
    • ENOVIA
    • Other enterprise PLM systems
  • Understanding of engineering change management processes, document control, BOM management, and product release procedures.
  • Familiarity with ERP system integration and manufacturing data processes is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within automotive manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes and tooling.
  • Understanding of product development and launch processes.
  • Exposure to PLM/CAD integrations and digital engineering environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise IT systems related to engineering and manufacturing operations.

Quality & Industry Standards

  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949 quality management requirements preferred.
  • Familiarity with TISAX information security standards preferred.
  • Understanding of ISO-based quality management systems and document control practices.
