Job description

Department: Office of the Chief Information Officer
SUMMARY
The Junior Application Systems Analyst will assist the Enterprise Application Engineering Team with managing and optimizing the enterprise applications used to support activity across the Church. The position will be responsible for ongoing administrative tasks, such as user management and the working and closing of support requests. The position will also serve as a member of the Applications Team on projects. On these projects, this position will work with this team and have an opportunity to serve/support all elements of the project process.
This role is designed as an entry point into Enterprise Application Engineering, offering structured development opportunities and hands-on experience to build the skills required for progression into more advanced roles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Project Activity
  • Support fellow Applications Team members with project activity including gathering requirements and writing user stories
  • Design and implement a solution to meet desired project outcomes with the support and guidance of fellow Applications Team members

Support Ongoing Administration
  • Maintain user roles and permissions with the support and guidance of fellow Applications Team members
  • Provide day-to-day end-user support with the support and guidance of fellow Applications Team members
  • Build and maintain reports and customer views to support business needs with the support and guidance of fellow Applications Team members
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for automation and AI-enabled capabilities and support their implementation under the guidance of fellow Applications Team members, ensuring adherence to established security and governance standards

Support Administration
  • Perform maintenance of existing, and drafting of new application documentation to support the Applications Team and the organization
  • Update work tracking tools and other administrative tasks

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge/Skills
The incumbent should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization in a collaborative way. They should have an ability to collaborate and build appropriate relationships with all levels of the organization, creating an environment of mutual trust through open communication and feedback. Experience with business applications and database management is preferred.
Technology Skills
  • Proficient with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Products is required
  • An understanding of a programing language like SQL or HTML is preferred
  • An understanding of the purpose and activity of database management is preferred
  • An ability and willingness to learn new third-party and SaaS-based applications, and to use available system tools and configurations to support and adapt solutions to meet user and business needs.

Work Environment
This position is based in Boston and regularly works in an office environment.

Membership in The Mother Church required; Primary Class instruction preferred.
Pay range: $33.90 - $44.07 hourly
