Description

We have a career opportunity for a Sr. ServiceNow Developer supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This role includes support for the Operations, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair, and Defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN), as well as support for DISA's operational transformation through innovation and mission partner support.

Candidates must hold an active DoD Secret clearance and an active Security+ certification (or equivalent DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher) prior to starting.

Candidates must be able to work on-site daily at one of the following locations: Fort Meade, MD, Scott AFB (Belleville, IL), or Hill AFB (Ogden, UT).

As Sr. ServiceNow Developer, you will perform configuration, development, support, and maintenance of the ServiceNow implementation. You will work with external and internal stakeholders to understand, propose, and deliver digital transformation solutions with emphasis on request fulfillment, automated workflows through ServiceNow Service Catalogs, and key ITIL processes including Request, Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and other modules.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the standup, configuration, and implementation of ServiceNow's ITSM, OMT, TSM, and TSOM modules
  • Create and maintain Forms, Reports, Views, Workflows, Groups, and Roles
  • Create, maintain, and enhance Dashboards and reporting, including scheduled reports
  • Create and configure tool integrations with ServiceNow (Elastic, Netcool, Kafka, etc.)
  • Coordinate and support application and platform upgrades
  • Assist with design, creation, and cataloging of business process flows
  • Work with other members of the ServiceNow development team to propose solutions based on business needs and strategies
  • Design and configure ServiceNow functions to meet operational needs
  • Support business process re-engineering activities to move ticketing and order management capabilities into ServiceNow
  • Identify trends and find patterns in unstructured and semi-structured customer data to improve customer experience and network performance
  • Interact with customers to address systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts
  • Develop, configure, and customize the ServiceNow platform to fit business requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Orchestrate and automate tasks
  • Design and build ServiceNow applications and integrations to other applications and platforms, including architecture, languages, best practices, and methodologies in an Agile Scrum environment
  • Collaborate on ongoing projects across new development and enhancements with engineers, developers, analysts, and other team members
  • Follow, maintain, and apply documentation best practice policies, procedures, and processes throughout ServiceNow development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input supporting ongoing business needs for ServiceNow configuration, implementation, and support
  • Review and apply UI/UX requirements from internal and external teams and align them into ServiceNow development
  • Utilize available programming methodologies and languages while adhering to coding standards, procedures, and techniques, and contributing to technical code documentation
  • Support data migration as needed
  • Design and implement solutions following established Configuration Management policies and standards
  • Integrate data from multiple sources into a unified CMDB, ensuring data quality and integrity
  • Mentor junior developers and guide them throughout each project
Basic Qualifications
  • US Citizenship required
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required — candidates without an active clearance will not be considered
  • Active Security+ certification (or equivalent DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher) required prior to start date
  • Must be local to and able to commute daily to one of the following locations: Fort Meade, MD | Belleville, IL (Scott AFB) | Ogden, UT (Hill AFB)
  • Bachelor's degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6–10 years of prior relevant experience; additional years of work experience in lieu of degree is acceptable
  • At least 6 years of experience with the design, development, and support of technology infrastructure
  • At least 4 years of ServiceNow development experience
  • Experience with ServiceNow upgrades
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks
  • Ability to multi-task and self-assign work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills enabling proactive and effective collaboration with a virtual team, including the ability to clearly articulate status and present to both customers and program leadership
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to rapid changes in technology
  • Willingness to assist and train junior developers
  • High level of professionalism — this role is performed on an active military installation
Preferred Qualifications
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
  • Experience or familiarity with Agile development and testing methodology
  • Exposure to ServiceNow applications such as Telecommunication Management System (TSM), Telecommunications Network Inventory (TNI), and Order Management Telecommunications (OMT) modules
  • Experience with JIRA, Git, and Confluence
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent understanding
  • AWS cloud and ServiceNow certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline
  • Experience working with large software systems including hardware integration and testing
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary technical development teams
  • Experience using SAFe as the agile development methodology
  • Experience migrating from legacy applications to new platforms
  • Experience applying test automation, test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
  • Experience using Kanban to improve flow on support teams
  • Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps and CI/CD implementation

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $90.00/hr.
