Job description

SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER

💡Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

💡Workplace Type: Remote

💡Employment Type: Contract (6 to 12 months, renewable)

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer who has a passion for creating digital products and services that create value for our clients. You are as passionate about creativity as you are about human centred design and human outcomes, and experience of working across responsive web and mobile apps for recognisable brands.

You will work across every stage of the product lifecycle from early-stage innovation, through to optimising performance, to reinventing existing products and services to drive better outcomes for our clients, their employees and their customers. You will approach the work you do and the way you work with intelligence, imagination, drive and humility.

Key skills:

  • Own end-to-end design execution across key product areas, translating user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into clean, modern, and intuitive experiences, particularly simplifying complex, data-heavy applications into usable and elegant solutions.
  • A product development or experience design background.
  • Apply human-centered design methods—including research synthesis, interaction design, and prototyping—to solve complex user problems, with a forward-thinking approach to incorporating AI-driven capabilities into user experiences.
  • A hybrid designer with a foundation in design research, UX, interaction and visual design, and particular strengths in one or two of these areas.
  • Experience working with AI tools to improve workflows, research and prototyping.
  • Contribute to team excellence by participating in critiques, sharing knowledge, and proactively improving design processes while maintaining a high bar for polish, usability, and clarity in complex product environments.
  • A combination of experience in designing for web and mobile applications. Experience of working on iOS and/or Android native apps is a plus.
  • Ideally you will have experience of launching or relaunching a product to market and optimising the performance over time.
  • Experience in directly planning and facilitating formative and evaluative research (e.g. one-to-one interviews, usability testing, surveys, etc), as well as synthesis of data and reporting.
  • Experience working with and building out design systems for responsive web and/or app.
  • Skilled in working independently or collaboratively with other designers in a demanding Agile environment to create great user experiences.
  • A strong systems thinker who understands how the pieces connect, continuously experimenting and improving human and business outcomes.
  • Expertise in taking projects from brief through to insight-led wireframes and prototypes that bring brands to life, through to build.
  • A keenness to explore the problem space before iteratively exploring solutions to meet those problems.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers—balancing strong collaboration with clear ownership of design decisions, communicating confidently and effectively with stakeholders.
  • Craft thoughtful interaction patterns, visual designs, and scalable components aligned with design systems while also extending beyond them when needed to support evolving product requirements and innovation.

The role:

As a Senior Product Designer, you will be part of a team working on iterative design transformation projects. You will work closely with the product owner and design lead, from discovery through delivery, to improve the customer experience and deliver business value.

You will be able self-organise, lead ideation workshops and design reviews with stakeholders and support more junior members of the team. You will develop ideas and concepts from initial wireframes, through to low-fidelity designs as well as prototype and present ideas, interactions and flows with confidence among the design team and clients, all while taking on feedback and iterate based on insights. You will be comfortable working with and supporting the creation of web responsive and app design systems.

You will be working closely with other practices within our Studio, will champion bold conceptual thinking and creative expression in the design process and stay on top of industry trends.

You will support the planning activity of design deliverables, report on the status of such deliverables to the Delivery team and notify them of any risks. Where relevant, you will support the wider Sales team by identifying business opportunities, leading on pitches, and generating ideas and suggestions for prospective work.
