As a Senior Android Developer, you'll build and own new product features for the Robinhood Wallet Android app. You will develop reliable and secure solutions to deliver a high-quality trading experience for cryptocurrencies and tokenized stocks, including perpetual futures, to customers worldwide. In this role, you will take lead responsibility for designing scalable mobile architectures, defining code standards, and maintaining high-quality codebases. You will collaborate closely with client engineers, backend developers, product designers, and external blockchain partners to deliver secure technical integrations. Additionally, you will mentor other developers and raise our overall engineering standards through design reviews, architecture discussions, and hands-on technical leadership.
This role is based in our Toronto, ON office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. What you'll doBuild intuitive, elegant, and stable mobile experiences using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android APIs.
Lead the full lifecycle of product features - from ideation and technical design to implementation, testing, and release.
Collaborate closely with product managers, product designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to create impactful solutions.
Champion mobile development standards and code review processes that ensure high quality, scalability, and maintainability.
Mentor other developers and help elevate team standards and collaboration.
5+ years of professional experience developing Android applications.
Proficiency with Kotlin and/or Java, and a strong grasp of Android SDK and architecture patterns like MVVM.
Experience using Jetpack Compose, Coroutines & Flow or RxJava, and libraries such as Retrofit and Room.
Strong collaboration and communication skills with a product-focused perspective.
Demonstrated ability to mentor peers, lead complex projects, and influence architecture decisions.
Experience working for a DeFi protocol, a crypto wallet company, or another blockchain-related company.
Familiarity with technologies like EVM blockchains and smart contracts.
