Job description

Are you a Sr. Software Development Engineer (SDE III) looking for a change?
We are looking for a creative and innovative engineer for APB's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool Private Brands Central (PBC) to build internal and external facing customer experiences as well as Gen AI solutions to drive efficiency on new product development workflows.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and build autonomous agent systems that decompose complex, multi-step problems into executable plans, integrating tool use, memory, and reasoning capabilities to deliver end-to-end solutions with minimal human intervention.
- Define the architecture and evaluation frameworks for agentic workflows, including orchestration patterns, guardrails, feedback loops, and reliability mechanisms that ensure agents operate safely, predictably, and at scale in production environments.
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
- Implement complex software solutions that meet business requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs
- Participate in architecture and design reviews to provide technical guidance
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancement
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering culture
About the team
This team builds functional modules within the Private Brands Central Product Lifecycle Management tool to accelerate speed to market for new product development for Amazon Private Brands (APB) and reduce dwell time for specific processes. Examples include: Developing an externalized module for sourcing Request For Quotations (RFQs) from APB suppliers, launching an automated process to manage sustainability and quality related claims for APB products, and automating ASIN and Detail Page creation on Amazon systems. The team is partnering with a 3P solution to build out an integrated PLM tool with an industry leading software solution.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices.
- Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
