Job description

Acton ADU – Campbell, CA
Full-Time | Growth Opportunity

Build High-Performance Housing. Grow Into Site Leadership.
Acton ADU is one of Silicon Valley’s fastest-growing ADU design-build firms. Our mission is simple:

Help solve California’s housing crisis by building exceptional backyard homes that strengthen families for generations.

Through our Family Integrity Planning approach, we don’t just build structures,we help homeowners create long-term housing solutions for aging parents, returning adult children, rental income, and wealth preservation.

We are hiring a Lead Carpenter on a Superintendent track, someone who wants ownership, growth, and leadership.

If you’re looking for a small, casual crew with no systems, this isn’t it. If you want to build meaningful projects inside a disciplined, high-performance company—keep reading.

The Role:
You will:
  • Lead carpentry execution on ADU projects.
  • Help supervise 1–3 active job sites.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and internal labor.
  • Perform quality control inspections.
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe jobsites.
  • Order lumber and standard materials.
  • Complete daily logs and administrative tracking.
  • Communicate clearly with PMs, inspectors, subs, and homeowners.
  • Train and mentor junior team members.
This is a leadership development role.
High performers will move into a Superintendent position.

What We Expect:
We hire experienced specialists, not self-taught generalists.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Journeyman-level residential construction experience.
  • Strong plan reading and layout skills.
  • Familiarity with CA Residential Building Code.
  • Solid math skills.
  • Experience working within structured systems (not chaotic jobsites).
  • Clear, professional communication.
You must be:
  • Self-motivated (we do not micromanage).
  • Organized and process-oriented.
  • Results-driven (good and on time beats perfect and late).
  • Candid and accountable.
  • Customer-focused.
  • Comfortable using software tools for tracking work.

Our Culture (Behavior Matters Here):
At Acton ADU, culture = behavior.

We hire people who:
  • Make a positive impact.
  • Empower teammates.
  • Encourage innovation.
  • Measure what matters.
  • Make measurable progress.
  • Are candid and accountable.
  • Advocate for the customer.
  • Help people thrive.

If you:
  • Need constant supervision.
  • Avoid accountability.
  • Resist structured systems.
  • Struggle with urgency.
This role will not be a fit.

What Success Looks Like:
Within 6–12 months:
  • You are independently leading site execution.
  • Your projects are clean, organized, and on schedule.
  • Subcontractors respect your leadership.
  • You proactively solve problems.
  • You are developing toward full Superintendent responsibility.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Competitive pay (DOE).
  • Medical + Dental Insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Generous PTO.
  • Clear growth path into Superintendent.
  • High-performance, growth-minded environment.

Why Join Acton ADU?
We are not a stagnant construction company.
We are building:
  • A scalable, system-driven organization.
  • A stunning ADU product library.
  • A culture of accountability and growth.
If you want to be part of a company scaling aggressively—and grow with it—this is your opportunity.

Equal Opportunity Employer:
Acton ADU is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We hire based on skill, character, and performance.
