Multiple Locations | Virtual | Seasonal Full-Time | Classroom Instruction

Houston (June 1st - June 26th
Virtual Session 1 (June 15th - July 10th)
Virtual Session 2 (July 13th - August 7th)

Hourly Pay Range: $18.40*

Position Description

NSBE SEEK Camp Facilitators are the foundation of the National Society of Black Engineers Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (NSBE SEEK) program. Working in teams of 2โ€“3 peers, Facilitators manage classrooms of 15โ€“25 elementary school students and deliver a fun, engaging, and rigorous engineering curriculum designed to build interest and aptitude in STEM.

Facilitators serve as role models for students by demonstrating academic excellence, ethical leadership, and behaviors aligned with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) values and mission. Through daily engagement, Facilitators inspire students to explore engineering concepts, work collaboratively, and develop confidence in their abilities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Enthusiastically and effectively facilitate hands-on engineering and STEM curriculum
  • Lead daily classroom activities and instructional sessions
  • Submit daily student attendance through the designated online system
  • Serve as a positive role model, reinforcing teamwork, respect, and curiosity
  • Track and maintain student forms and classroom supplies
  • Escalate classroom or student issues to the NSBE SEEK Lead Camp Facilitator and NSBE SEEK Camp Program Manager, as appropriate
  • Participate in daily staff debrief meetings
  • Support overall implementation of the NSBE SEEK program through additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Collegiate engineering student, STEM major, or technical professional preferred
  • Prior experience working with children, youth programs, or camps strongly encouraged
  • Passion for STEM education and youth development
