Opportunity: Jr Mechanical Estimator for a Commercial HVAC company in West Georgia

The role will report to the Sr Mechanical Estimator of the company. This role will assist in the oversite of all the projects the company has. This is a new position that is involved in the day-to-day oversite and resolving issues, making sure the budgeting is in alignment with estimates, labor management, and invoicing oversight. They are currently making 50 million yearly with 100 employees, however, they are expecting the revenue to double over the next two years. Hence, we are seeking a Jr Mechanical Estimator who can assist in the processes and procedures to continue this growth. They are growing and need oversight to keep things on track. They are using computer ease and Procore.

  

As a Junior Mechanical Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing cost estimates for mechanical projects. Working closely with experienced estimators and project managers, you will help ensure our projects are accurately estimated and competitively priced. This is a new position that is involved in the day-to-day oversite and resolving issues, making sure the budgeting is in alignment with estimates, labor management, and invoicing oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Review: Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to review project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.

Quantity Takeoff: - Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractor services required for project execution.

Cost Estimation: - Assist in preparing comprehensive cost estimates, including detailed breakdowns of labor, material, equipment, subcontractor costs, and overhead.

Vendor and Supplier Coordination: - Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and equipment, ensuring that all necessary cost data is collected.

Estimate Documentation: - Organize, detail and maintain accuracy.

Participate in the preparation and submission of bids and proposals to clients. Ensure bids are submitted accurately and on time.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
