Job description

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team in Glendale, California. This position supports the design and analysis of electrical power and lighting systems for commercial, institutional, and public-sector facilities. The engineer will work with project managers, architects, mechanical engineers, and clients to develop electrical designs from concept through construction.
The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical power distribution design, lighting design, system analysis, and preparation of construction documents for building systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Design electrical power distribution systems for commercial, mixed-use, and institutional facilities
 • Prepare electrical construction documents including single-line diagrams, panel schedules, power plans, and specifications
 • Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, and fault current studies
 • Determine AIC ratings and coordinate overcurrent protection devices
 • Size raceways, conductors, grounding systems, and electrical equipment
 • Prepare lighting layouts and perform illumination calculations using photometric software
 • Design indoor and outdoor lighting systems including point-by-point footcandle calculations
 • Select transformers, panelboards, circuit breakers, and motor control equipment
 • Coordinate electrical systems with HVAC, plumbing, elevators, fire alarm, and other building systems
 • Perform field surveys of existing electrical systems and verify existing conditions
 • Participate in coordination meetings with clients, architects, contractors, and utility companies
 • Assist with preparation of engineering reports, studies, and recommendations
 • Support construction administration activities including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
 • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design for buildings or infrastructure projects
 • Knowledge of NEC, electrical design standards, and building codes
 • Experience preparing electrical plans and construction documents
 • Familiarity with electrical analysis such as load calculations, voltage drop, and short-circuit studies
 • Experience with lighting design and photometric analysis
 • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit preferred
