Job description

Data Analyst / Jr Data Engineer

Join a growing and innovative energy organization where data plays a critical role in shaping business decisions across operations, retail, finance, and commercial functions. This position offers the opportunity to work with modern cloud-based technologies, advanced analytics, and emerging AI capabilities to transform complex data into actionable business insights. The Data Analyst will be responsible for developing scalable data solutions, supporting enterprise reporting needs, and enabling stakeholders across the organization to leverage data more effectively for strategic and operational decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and analytical solutions within Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), utilizing services such as BigQuery, Data Fusion, DataStream, and Cloud Storage.
  • Create and support scalable data models, including dimensional, relational, and semantic models, to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Integrate and analyze data from enterprise systems, including ERP platforms such as SAP BW/4HANA, ensuring alignment between source systems and cloud analytics environments.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, deliver reporting solutions, and promote self-service analytics capabilities.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards, reports, and ad hoc analyses that consolidate information from diverse data sources.
  • Write and tune complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis.
  • Contribute to AI and advanced analytics initiatives through statistical analysis, trend identification, forecasting, and predictive modeling efforts.
  • Utilize Python to automate recurring reporting processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain data quality, governance, and consistency standards across reporting and analytics outputs.
  • Communicate analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve data processes, reporting, and analytics capabilities.
Requirements
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future sponsorship requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related discipline
  • Hands-on experience building dashboards and visualizations using Looker and/or Power BI.
  • Experience working within Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), particularly BigQuery, including data modeling, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Strong background in data modeling concepts, including star schemas, snowflake schemas, semantic layers, and entity-relationship design.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience querying, analyzing, and transforming large datasets.
  • Experience developing and maintaining LookML-based reporting solutions.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis, process automation, and workflow development.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into meaningful business insights and recommendations for decision-makers.
  • Experience identifying trends, anomalies, and business improvement opportunities through data analysis.
  • Familiarity with operational, financial, retail, or energy-related datasets is highly desirable.
  • Experience with data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow is a plus.
  • Exposure to statistical analysis, predictive analytics, machine learning, or AI-driven solutions is preferred.
  • Relevant cloud or data certifications, such as Google Cloud Platform Professional Data Engineer, are beneficial.
