Construction Carpenter (Journeyman) – Maintenance

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Why This Role?

Join a hands-on maintenance team where your craftsmanship and problem-solving skills directly support plant operations and facility improvements. As a Journeyman Construction Carpenter, you’ll work on a wide variety of projects from cabinetry and structural carpentry to facility repairs and fabrication, all while helping maintain a safe, efficient, and well-functioning manufacturing environment.

Your Impact

In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining and improving plant facilities, equipment areas, and workspaces. Your work will support production operations, enhance workplace safety, and help ensure the campus remains functional and well maintained. You’ll partner with internal teams and outside contractors while bringing practical solutions to construction, repair, and facility projects.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Perform carpentry and construction work including cabinetry, framing, shelving, stairways, room finishing, and general building repairs.
  • Complete concrete and steel construction projects, including pouring floors, bases, foundations, and fabricating small steel structures.
  • Maintain campus infrastructure by repairing doors, installing glass, building scaffolding, and supporting facility improvements.
  • Plan and coordinate work orders by reviewing daily requests, collaborating with engineering and production teams, and closing completed work in D365.
  • Source and purchase project materials, maintain shop inventory, and manage job-related expenses and receipts through Concur.
  • Support plant operations and seasonal needs, including snow removal, furniture moves, signage installation, and supply distribution.
  • Maintain and operate the paint shop, including spray equipment, paint inventory, booth maintenance, and preparing parts and facility items for painting.

What You'll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Class A Construction Journeyperson accreditation preferred
  • Strong skills in cabinetry, rough carpentry, and general construction techniques.
  • Ability to perform concrete work, light steel fabrication, and acetylene cutting.
  • Experience reading work orders and collaborating with engineering, maintenance planners, and area leaders.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage materials, purchasing, and inventory for projects and shop operations.
  • Must supply and maintain personal carpentry tools in accordance with department tool policy.
  • Dependable team player with initiative and a commitment to safety, housekeeping, and 5S standards.
  • Willingness to work overtime and respond to emergency maintenance needs when required.
