What you will do

Perform the installation of fire protection piping, valves and accessories for commercial and industrial application. Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer and/or job requirements. Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner.

Service and troubleshoot wet/dry/ pre-action systems, fire pumps-based fire sprinkler systems, and backflows, including repair andinternal inspections of systems.

Follow verbal and written instructions, read, and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.

Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 60 pounds. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.

Maintain a clean and safe work area. Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with Johnson Controls Fire Protection work. Wear appropriate safety equipment as required including bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves, face maskand safety toed boots.

Properly secure all Johnson Controls Fire Protection tools and equipment at the end of each work period to prevent damage or loss.

Have computer/phoneskills - Word, Excel, Outlook andiPhoneapps and functions

Complete and submit time reports and other documents as required.

Bring to the immediate attention of the dispatcher/supervisor of all changes, discrepancies and coordination problems that impair activities or schedules.

Ocassional working alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer service on call requirements is required.

Perform other duties as directed.

What we look for

Required

3-5 years of experience in the industry.

Working knowledge of wet, dry and pre-action sprinkler systems, and fire pump.

High School Diploma, or equivalent.

Must have a clean driving record.

Follow verbal and written instructions

Preferred

Sprinkler and Backflow license a plus or must be obtained.

NICET certification is a plus.

Completion of an accredited skilled-trade education program.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $26 - $35 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
