Job Summary and Responsibilities

Housekeeper - Environmental Services

St. John's Hospital Camarillo

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-orientated Housekeeper to join our team. The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment which is essential to ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all areas of the facility are clean and well-maintained. 

  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, and other areas.
  • Follow established cleaning and disinfection protocols and procedures
  • Collect and dispose of waste, biohazardous waste and linens
  • Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms and common areas
  • Respond to requests for cleaning services from healthcare staff
  • You may operate heavy-duty equipment and use special cleaning equipment.
Job Requirements
  • Housekeeping experience required, utilizing basic housekeeping practices and procedures, proper handling/disposal of infectious waste, and proper safety skills in handling housekeeping chemicals
  • Acute healthcare work experience involving the use of heavy equipment such as buffer extractors, wide area vacuums, and wet vacuums

This position is represented by SEIU UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
