Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed preliminary interviews and comprehensive assessments to document clientsโ€™ mental health histories from initial consultation to treatment completion, ensuring that each client's unique needs are recognized and addressed.
  • Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health status through diagnostic tools and clinical interviews, interpreting results to inform treatment planning.
  • Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, incorporating evidence-based strategies and therapeutic modalities.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can share their experiences and work through challenges.
  • Continuously monitor and assess client progress throughout the duration of the treatment plan, making necessary adjustments to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers, to develop holistic intervention plans and ensure a coordinated approach to client care.
  • Follow up with clients who have been admitted to the hospital, liaising with attending physicians to maintain continuity of care and enhance recovery efforts.
  • Identify and manage behaviors that could impede client recovery, providing guidance and support to assist clients in overcoming these challenges.
  • Engage with family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with tools and strategies to support the mental health of their loved ones.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will serve come from diverse backgrounds and present a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related issues, and addiction challenges. Qualifications
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Proven experience working as a mental health counselor, demonstrating expertise in assessing and treating a variety of psychological conditions.
Preferred Experience
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to enhance client documentation and interaction.
  • Experience dealing with complex coexisting physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
  • Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • In-depth understanding of psychopharmacology and the implications of various prescribed medications on mental health treatment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with exceptional interpersonal abilities and a compassionate disposition.
