Spec Building Materials Corporation, a wholesale distributor of building materials since 1974, is looking for a Corporate Recruiter in Kansas City, KS. This person would be charged with identifying our current needs while working with our regional managers and developing a bench in order to secure future growth of our company. This candidate would be a seasoned individual who could clearly demonstrate a successful track record of recruiting and identifying top talent in the building materials industry.

Responsibilities of a Corporate Recruiter:

  • Source and attract qualified candidates using various methods, including databases, online job boards, and networking.
  • Engage with potential applicants through phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Review resumes and conduct interviews to assess candidates' suitability for different roles within the organization.
  • Craft comprehensive job announcements detailing job requirements, including experience, education, and skills.
  • Utilize behavioral interviewing techniques to evaluate candidates effectively.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into referrals, references, and social media profiles to gain a comprehensive understanding of applicants.
  • Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with colleges and local organizations, participating in job fairs and networking events.

Required Skills
  • Proven experience in recruiting, preferably within a high-volume organization, agency, or executive search firm.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using both cold and warm calling techniques to source and recruit candidates.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and social media platforms for recruitment purposes.
  • Strong analytical skills to track metrics and analyze data for strategic recruitment planning.
  • Professional and courteous communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
  • Maintains an exemplary public image, including on social media platforms.
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities, particularly in networking and building professional relationships.
