Job description

Reporting to the Manager, Transaction Management & Analytics, the incumbent will be primarily responsible to participate in the integration of new activities and / or acquired assets into the company’s portfolio. In this role, you will analyze non-standard & complex transactions, develop data automation, create automated reports, and participate actively into information system implementation and improvements. 

The level of the role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Document and capture non-standard transactions requiring trade automation, multi-layer book structure, and an understanding of electricity and renewable attributes valuation and settlement;
  • Collect, organize, and transform large quantities of data into useful and reliable information to enhance the Operational Strategy trade capture, P&L attribution and reporting;
  • Develop and maintain solutions to support Operational Strategy efforts to explain performance with regards to market events, trading activities, and other performance drivers;
  • Document and maintain data relationship between systems used in Operational Strategy analysis;
  • Conduct data integrity test to ensure the validity of the information used in analysis and reports submitted to senior management;
  • Participate in answering analysis and business development requests.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in a related field,
  • Knowledge of programming language such as Python, R, Matlab, SQL or similar is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Alteryx, Databrick and / or Power BI is an asset
  • Knowledge of commodity markets (including energy) is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Trade capture and Data Validation System is an asset;
  • Strong communication skills.
