Job description

Overview
Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a Jira Administrator. This is a contract position working remote with benefits. This role will focus on optimizing Jira environments, supporting project management teams, and building scalable workflows and automations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, collaborative, and able to transfer knowledge effectively to internal teams.
Must be a U.S. Citizen. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
Responsibilities
  • Administer and optimize Jira Cloud environments, including configurations and ongoing system enhancements
  • Design and implement Jira automations to streamline workflows and improve team efficiency
  • Create and customize Jira projects, including issue types, workflows, permission schemes, and screen configurations
  • Partner closely with Project Management teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored Jira solutions
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide ongoing support to Jira users
  • Document configurations, processes, and best practices
  • Cross-train internal team members (Merlin Lab employees) on implemented solutions and system usage

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator
  • Strong expertise in Jira Cloud, including automations and advanced customizations
  • Proven experience with project setup and configuration (workflows, schemes, permissions, issue types, etc.)
