Bartender – JINYA Ramen BarJob Summary

Bartenders at JINYA Ramen Bar are brand ambassadors who create a fun, relaxed, and exceptional dining experience. As a Bartender, you are expected to be approachable, friendly, hospitable, and professional while executing JINYA’s service standards with precision.

Bartenders ensure guests receive outstanding service through full menu knowledge, expert beverage execution, and consistent application of JINYA’s steps of service. All bartenders work collaboratively to elevate the overall guest experience while delivering high-quality ramen, tapas, cocktails, beer, wine, and specialty beverages.

Primary Responsibilities

• Serve guests in a professional and positive manner, including taking food and beverage orders and delivering items accurately and efficiently

• Execute JINYA’s steps of service and upselling techniques to guide guests through menu selections, daily specials, and dietary accommodations

• Prepare cocktails, beer, wine, and specialty beverages to JINYA standards following exact recipes and specifications

• Greet guests, manage seating and reservations when needed, and provide accurate wait time expectations

• Maintain strong knowledge of ramen offerings, tapas, beverages, allergens, and menu pairings

• Participate in JINYA cultural greetings including “Irasshai” and “Arigato”

• Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, servers, management, and kitchen team members

• Answer phone calls, assist with reservations, and support table assignments when needed

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area and all guest-visible spaces

• Support front-of-house operations including refilling beverages, polishing glassware, resetting tables, and assisting teammates

• Address minor guest concerns and escalate significant issues to management promptly

• Demonstrate full knowledge of restaurant operations including hours, menu details, table numbers, payment systems, and policies

• Promote and execute JINYA’s core values of Teamwork, Hospitality, Authenticity, Creativity, and Integrity

• Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned by management

Required Competencies

• Minimum 2–3 years of restaurant experience, with at least 1 year of bartending experience in a high-volume environment preferred

• Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation, bar service standards, and POS systems

• Professional verbal and written communication skills with strong multitasking ability

• Positive attitude and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting

• Ability to read and follow written instructions

• Experience using POS systems and reservation platforms such as OpenTable or similar

• Ability to lead by example and foster team spirit

• Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated

• Experience working in multicultural environments

• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays

• Ability to stand for extended periods and maneuver efficiently in limited space

Required Education & Certifications

• Ability to read, write, and speak English

• Must obtain and maintain all required local, state, and federal alcohol service and food handling certifications

Work Environment

This position operates in a fast-paced, professional restaurant environment with frequent movement between the bar, dining room, and kitchen areas. Bartenders routinely use trays, glassware, bar tools, and restaurant equipment.

Frequent communication with guests, servers, kitchen staff, and management is required to maintain seamless service and uphold JINYA’s hospitality standards.
