Job description

Position Title: Jewish Rabbi
Location: Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Beaumont, TexasKey Responsibilities
  • Conduct monthly Jewish worship services at all FCC Beaumont facilities (USP, Medium, Low, and Camp).

  • Provide religious instruction, teachings, and guidance based on Jewish law, rituals, holidays, and traditions.

  • Offer pastoral counseling, spiritual support, and one-on-one assistance to inmates.

  • Perform SHU rounds as required to meet the needs of Jewish inmates.

  • Deliver lessons on Jewish history, holidays, prayers, ethics, culture, and scripture as outlined in the SOW.

  • Report inmate misconduct or safety concerns immediately to the Chaplain or designated staff.

  • Coordinate schedules, document session logs, and submit required paperwork for payment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be knowledgeable in all essential aspects of Judaism, including: Torah reading, holidays, mitzvot, Jewish law (Halakha), prayers, Hebrew blessings, Jewish ethics, cultural traditions, and major denominations.

  • Experience providing religious leadership, instruction, or chaplaincy in a community, synagogue, or institutional setting.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with adult offenders in a secure environment.

  • Must conduct oneself professionally and in attire representative of Jewish religious practice.
