Job description

Certified Nursing Assistant Program

Jewish Home Family is now accepting applications for students to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. This is an "earn as you learn" program trained by state approved Jewish Home Family Instructors.

JHF will train you for six weeks to prepare you with the skills and tools to pass the NJ Certified Aide Nursing test. The six (6) week class is free of charge.

Upon successful completion you will be a CNA for the Jewish Home Family. Applications must be submitted by July 1, 2026.

Fulltime benefits include: Medical, Vision, Dental, 401k, and paid time off.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors.
  • Complete and pass the 6 week educational and clinical hours of the course.
  • Follow work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
  • Assist Residents in preparing for activity and social programs (i.e., church services, parties, visitors, etc.).
  • Answer Resident calls promptly.
  • Report injuries of an unknown source, including skin tears.
  • Assist Resident with meals as needed and identifying food arrangements.
  • Ensure that you treat all Resident's fairly, and with kindness, dignity and respect.
  • Report all allegations of Residents abuse and/ or misappropriation of Resident property.
  • Honor the Resident's refusal of treatment request. Report such requests to your supervisor.
