Job description

Job Summary
The MRO Sales Manager is responsible for generating sales for Jet Aircraft Maintenance & other services. In addition, the MRO Sales Manager will develop a sales plan targeting new customers or upselling to current customers, and source to identify new prospects via Jetnet, Salesforce.com and leads through other avenues.
**Qualified candidates must be based in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zones, preferably near a large city / airport with major airline service**
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Sell maintenance services, modifications, upgrades, and mandated equipment installations to Business Jet aircraft operators
  • Collaborate with Avionics & Interior Sales to identify and act upon cross-selling opportunities and ensure coordinated communication with Western Aircraft customers
  • Identify prospects in key marketing area, using Salesforce.com, Jetnet, market data, and team input
  • Assist customer in determining the best maintenance solutions for their aircraft profile and personal preferences
  • Accurately research and quote parts, labor and outside services for maintenance projects that fall within Western's target product offering and airframes
  • Negotiate customer terms and pricing with the goal of maximizing revenue and contribution margin, while remaining competitive in the marketplace
  • Proactively work with Engineering to ensure quotes are accurate, and capabilities are available to handle the projects at hand
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by responding quickly to questions, quote inquiries, and post-sale follow-up
  • Actively participate in trade shows and follow-up after the show with business contacts and prospects
  • Summarize quarterly results under agreed-upon measured criteria for follow up with direct manager
  • Organize sales trips to meet with prospects, and set specific objectives for each trip, often in coordination with Avionics and/or Interior Sales
  • Attend scheduling and sales meetings; provide input for improved processes to generate opportunities and resolve issues
  • Positively interact with partner vendors to understand product details, value proposition, and opportunities to sell maintenance products
  • Perform market analysis on target airframe markets and assist in developing sales strategies
  • Perform other duties as directed

Qualifications & Job Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in aviation services sales or management preferred
  • Maintenance, repair, and/or overhaul background with corporate aircraft focus preferred
  • Must possess a working knowledge of business aviation maintenance, manufacturers, and marketplace
  • Proficiency, or ability to comprehensively learn, CRM software, such as SalesForce.com
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office including creation of spreadsheets, quotes, databases, and reports in Excel & Word
  • Experience utilizing Corridor to build and edit quotes
  • Experience interpreting Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins, and other technical directives

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or aviation related study strongly preferred or four years equivalent working experience in the general aviation industry
  • Preferred technical aviation experience or A&P certification

Other Prerequisites
  • Qualified candidates must be based in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zones, preferably near a large city / airport with major airline service.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge
  • Valid Driver's License

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed primarily indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. Requires sitting for 6-8 hours a day. Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs. Constantly requires clear vision to read printed materials and computer screens. Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Requires as much as 50% travel to visit customers, vendors, and attend trade shows; must be able to conform to TSA regulations for airline travel.
