Do you have what it takes to Be Calspan?

Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical and electrical equipment installation and repairs in response to service requests within the guidelines of company EH&S practices/policies. Includes removal and/or modification of existing customer equipment in preparation for new equipment installations.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic applications with the use of diagnostic and test equipment.
  • Conduct functional checkout and commissioning of electrical and mechanical equipment in accordance with company documentation and procedures. Submit timely and accurate reporting logs for all site activity during installation, checkout and commissioning of the test facility.
  • Perform supervision of sub-contractors. Includes coordinating, directing and validating the work performed
  • Document and prepare red line drawing changes, submit requests for parts and assist in writing work procedures
  • Assists shop production teams with sub-assembly work and facility maintenance as needed
Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors in related discipline
  • 3+ years in related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically 75% of the time
  • A valid U.S. driver's license and passport are required
  • Requires a high level of planning and organization skills
  • Professionally interact with customers and subcontractors
  • Strong communication verbal and written skills - must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with the customer and company personnel
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and testing procedures, as well as, hands on experience in troubleshooting of both mechanical an electrical control system
  • PLC code, ability to investigate and implement changes with engineering support/direction
  • Microsoft Office proficient; CAD experience beneficial
  • Work at heights and operate aerial lifts, fork lifts and variety of hand tools
