Job description

General Purpose of Job:
The Aircraft Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the interior and exterior of airplanes to ensure hygiene, safety, and passenger satisfaction. This fast-paced role requires working efficiently between flights and handling specialized cleaning chemicals.
Duties:
  • Equip airplane cabin, by reading check list specifications, with equipment and supplies such as rugs, linens, blankets, etc., as well as carrying supplies weighing up to 50lbs. on board aircraft
  • Clean, sort, count, salvage and/or store equipment, and assemble kits
  • Operate vacuum cleaner and similar mechanized cleaning aids
  • Cleaning and conducting security searches including searching under passenger seats, tray tables, seatback and life vest pouches, if applicable and ensuring all areas of the aircraft are free of debris
  • Clean and service cabin interiors, including cockpit, lavatories, and draining when needed
  • Check deliveries of supplies against requisitions to determine discrepancies
  • As may apply to work assignments, using cleaning fluids and materials, such as washing solutions, scrapers, squeegees, wringer pails and vacuum cleaners
  • Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures
  • May be required to assist with departures and arrivals of flights as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather conditions as well as environment conditions, i.e. jet engine fumes, vehicles emissions, dust and jet engine noise
Ability to push/pull/lift 50 lbs. for extended periods of time
  • Ability to judge distances
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Reports to work on a regular and timely basis
  • Must pass background check, pre-employment drug test and obtain security clearance
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must have valid Driver's license
  • Must be available to work varied hours including swing and graveyard shifts plus weekends and holidays
  • Ability to read and write English; bilingual skills a plus

Physical Demands :
Must be able to carry 50 pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches and carry 50 pound suitcase in front of you with both hands for a distance of up to 25 feet; must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
Work Environment:
Airport environment: Indoors and Outdoors. Extreme outdoor conditions where extreme temperature ranges may be encountered.
