Job description

The College of Osteopathic Medicine at Xavier University (XUCOM), a Catholic University in the Jesuit tradition, invites applications for a 12-month position beginning in the late summer/early fall 2026. The Medical Education Specialist assists in the development and coordination of elements related to the Office of Medical Education, including the administration of the first-year DO pre-clinical curriculum as well as the Master of Arts in Biomedical Science curriculum. This position supports faculty classroom instruction and testing including the compiling and formatting of exams, administering exams, assisting in maintaining accurate grades, posting of all teaching materials to Canvas courses, and administering class assessments. This position works closely with the Associate Dean for Curricular Assessment and Quality and reports to the Director of Medical Education. The Medical Education Specialist will have significant interaction with both students and faculty, and an amicable, professional demeanor is essential. XUCOM is the first osteopathic medical school at a Jesuit Catholic University. To fulfill its mission, XUCOM will integrate Jesuit Catholic traditions and values with Osteopathic Principles and Practice; our mission is infused in all that we do. Xavier is an EOE.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Interact with students, faculty, colleagues, and administration to support the learning of all students within the COM.
  • Assist with assessment-related efforts including the creation and management of course and faculty evaluations, updating curriculum maps.
  • Support information collection and flow for learning management system (Canvas) data and assessment management systems.
  • Support data entry and ground level assessment information and processing for the Associate Deans.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail are essential.
Job Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Education or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working in higher education is preferred.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
