Job description

SUMMARY:
Obtains customer compliance specifications from the appropriate customer personnel and customer portals for Canadian and Domestic customers. Reviews all issues that apply to Jelly Belly Candy Company. Documents requirements for production/distribution implementation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Obtains customer compliance specifications from the appropriate customer personnel and customer portals.
Maintains and documents Vendor information in an organized manner.
Ensures that all packaging, labeling, marking, routing, and ticketing requirements are complied with, as agreed to and designated in the various contracts with our customers.
Coordinates all customer specifications regarding compliance issues, assists in formatting data so it is usable in the company-wide systems, and ensures conformity where agreed upon, to the customer requirements.
Negotiates with customer to receive waivers of requirements that we cannot/will not meet.
Reviews each contract and alerts Jelly Belly management and Distribution if we are out of compliance or when requirements change.
Assists with development and coordination of corrective action plans to assure timely and sustainable compliance.
Assists Domestic Distribution Departments with routing when difficulties arise.
Maintains logins/passwords for customer portals.
Communicates with various Customer Logistics Departments on behalf of the Distribution Department.
Assists IT Department and EDI Consulting Team in the creation of carton labels by providing the requirements to them.
Works with QA and Regulatory to provide customers with various product information.
Monitors, tracks and analyzes compliance issues on an on-going basis, performs audits and ensures uniform and accurate compliance throughout all impacted departments.
Assists with ensuring process compliance and improving logistics/operations processes in accordance with customer requirements.
Assists with process of customer and vendor set-up, proposes improvements and implements changes internally and externally.
Collaborates with suppliers, customers and various Jelly Belly Departments to ensure proper management of vendor onboarding and account management.
Participates in various forums with RVCF (Retail Value Chain Federation) to gather customer information from other vendors.
Assists the Accounting Department (Accounts Receivable) in researching deductions taken for vendor violations and determines legitimacy. Where appropriate, disputes deductions with the customer’s compliance departments in an effort to reverse charge-backs.
Assists EDI Consulting Team for new account set up and new TP set ups.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Two year certificate from college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external customers and co-workers in a clear, professional manner and in both written and verbal form.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation as well as being flexible and working out solutions that best suit the company and the customer.
