About the Role

Jefferies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer / Technical Lead to join our Securities Finance Technology team. This role is ideal for a hands-on technologist with deep expertise in modern Java, Spring Framework, and AWS cloud services, combined with strong leadership capabilities and experience in Securities Finance or Prime Services.

You will lead a team of developers, collaborate with global stakeholders, and help design and build scalable, resilient, and highperformance systems supporting fronttoback securities finance workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality technology solutions for Securities Finance.
  • Drive architecture discussions and contribute to technical strategy using modern Java and Spring technologies.
  • Build cloud-native microservices and distributed systems leveraging AWS.
  • Collaborate with business users, product managers, and technology teams across global offices.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers; ensure best practices in coding, testing, and DevOps.
  • Own end-to-end delivery-from requirements gathering through deployment and support.
  • Work closely with global teams across the US, EMEA, and APAC in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance for mission-critical trading platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience, including recent work with: 
    • Java 11+ (preferably Java 17 or later)
    • Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Redis
  • Strong working experience in AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, ECS/EKS).
  • Proven experience leading development teams or acting as a technical lead.
  • Solid understanding of securities finance, securities lending/borrowing, or prime services.
  • Strong communication skills-able to interact with business and technology partners.
  • Experience working with distributed global teams.
  • Strong understanding of modern development practices: CI/CD, Git, automated testing, microservices, containers, messaging systems (Kafka, MQ), and relational/non-relational databases.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $175,000 - $220,000.

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual's experience level and qualifications.
