Job description

Job Title: JCRD Clinical Manager -Care Coordination

Department: 911 Diversion

FLSA Classification: Exempt—Fulltime

Reports To: Clinical Director

Position Summary:

Directly supervises the Community-Based Clinical Care Coordination and Community-Centered Crisis Team within the Justice & Crisis Response Department. Under the supervision of the JCRD Director, this Clinical Manager oversees the BHR Diversion program and serves as a liaison between emergency personnel managers, supervisors, and community organizations to support strong partnerships and shared understanding of triage policies and procedures. The Clinical Manager may also provide JCR services in the community and assist with training on JCR functions. This role has a visible public presence and may provide training under the guidance of the Clinical Director, as needed.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for ensuring that all employees receive appropriate training and can demonstrate competency in necessary skills.

Provides and documents performance feedback to staff through side-by-side coaching, performance reviews, goal setting, and deficiency management.

Supports and communicates business goals, quality standards, processes, procedures, and policies. Administers motivational programs for individual and team performance. Communicates BHR’s and programmatic updates, activities and plans to team by conducting regular team meetings.

Monitors, reviews, and evaluates all staff written documentation to ensure quality standards and team benchmarks are consistently achieved.

Manages staff schedules, attendance, paid time off, etc. by effectively using scheduling software.

Provides debriefing for all employees as needed.

Compiles monthly and annual data for internal and external reports assigned by or Director.

Represents department/agency as needed at internal and external meetings.

Interviews and hires team members upon approval of Clinical Associate Director.

Conducts personnel supervision activities such as staffing, disciplinary actions, and performance appraisals.

Completes work in a timely, professional manner, and achieves established goals and objectives. Monitors own work to ensure quality performance.

Is available on-call for service consultation.

Demonstrates an ability and willingness to work in a fluid environment across departmental lines or units. Responds to changes in direction and priorities positively.

Demonstrates proficiency in work habits and time management skills. Meets JCRU attendance and punctuality standards.

Performs high quality clinical assessments with excellent customer service skills.

Documentation is written in a proficient and professional manner.

Committed to ongoing professional and educational development. Participates in individual and group supervision, BHR training, seminars, functions, and events.

Must work well as part of a team and individually with other employees. Must be flexible with work hours and special requests from JCRD leadership.

Perform various other duties and functions as required or assigned within area of expertise or scope of the position.


Education, Experience and Skills Required:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or Psychiatric Nursing

Minimum of 1-year experience as a supervisor or one-year counseling experience with demonstrated leadership skills.

Minimum of 2 years of case management experience.

Extensive knowledge of call center protocol and procedures, the Crisis Intervention Model, and the DSM-5.

Strong leadership and communication skills include excellent customer service skills.

Excellent clinical assessment skills and sound clinical judgment.

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
