Job description

Codeworks, an LRS company, is seeking a Java Developer for a contract position A candidate with experience in Java, C#.NET, ASP.NET, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, full lifecycle testing, microservices architecture patterns, and Agile methodologies. This role offers the chance to apply your skills in support of meaningful work for one of our client partners.

The individual in this role will contribute as a senior-level technologist in the design, development, modernization, and support of enterprise applications.

In addition to building new applications and tools, this role will help guide modernization efforts across Java and .NET environments. This includes initiatives such as updating Java versions, migrating identity providers, improving accessibility, and transitioning legacy systems to microservices-based architectures.


Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and enhance applications, including modernization of existing systems
  • Analyze and address complex technical challenges
  • Contribute to and support modernization initiatives using industry best practices
  • Develop and implement testing strategies, including integration with automated build processes
  • Collaborate on modernization efforts for Java and .NET applications
  • Build and improve application presentation layers using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Angular or React
  • Support the evolution of applications toward scalable, modern architectures, including microservices
Experience

  • Familiarity with modernization approaches (e.g., lift-and-shift, strangler pattern)
  • Candidates must be able to work on-site in Madison, WI 3 days per week. Relocation is not available.

The base range for this contract position is $50.00 - $60.00 per hour, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors.
